Georgian Hazelnuts
Hazelnuts from the Senaki region of Georgia are known for their high quality, rich flavor, and excellent nutritional value. The region’s mild climate, fertile soil, and adequate rainfall create ideal conditions for hazelnut cultivation. The nuts are characterized by a high oil content of around 60%, making them especially valued in the food and confectionery industries.
Harvesting typically takes place from August to September, once the nuts reach full maturity. After harvesting, hazelnuts are carefully dried to a moisture level of approximately 6%, then sorted and processed to preserve quality and extend shelf life. Both traditional and modern agricultural practices are used, ensuring stable yields and consistent quality.
Georgian hazelnuts are widely recognized on international markets for their excellent taste, natural quality, and suitability for export, making them a sought-after agricultural product worldwide.
