"Natenadze Wines" was founded in 2009. The company is dedicated to the revival and promotion of the lost Meskhetian grape varieties. Its founder, Giorgi Natenadze, has been engaged in the restoration of these ancient endemic vines for 25 years. To date, he has discovered 24 unique Meskhetian grape varieties that are found neither elsewhere in Georgia nor anywhere else in the world.
The winery produces limited quantities of natural wine from vines that are centuries old. These vines grow on their own roots and survive in the wild, scattered across forests and abandoned villages. Natenadze’s Marani is the only winery in the world today that crafts exceptional natural wines exclusively from the fruit of wild-growing vines.
