Elven has developed a flexible, lightweight, low-cost fireproof composite. The composite is made by layering four materials, is fireproof at 2000 degrees Celsius ( peak temperature of lithium battery fire), and has very low thermal conductivity. This innovative solution has widespread applications across industries due to its low weight and cost compared to the thickness and protective capabilities of the material.
The composite consists of the four most advanced and commercially available materials. We tested the composite in several 3rd party labs, including Rochester Institute of Technology, UC Berkeley, and Iowa State University. We use this combination to achieve low heat conductivity and long-term resistance to extremely high-temperature flames. It does not melt or drip and maintains barrier function and low thermal conductivity while constantly subjected to a flame of 2000 degrees Celsius for >15 minutes.
