History of Kotekhi winery goes back to 1976, when one of the largest winery was built. For years it has been one of the leading wine producer not only in Georgia but the entire Soviet Union. The winery is located in Gurjaani, the heart of the famous Kakheti region, where the majority of outstanding Georgian wines are produced.
In 1992 the winery has undergone privatisation and a new, independent winery was established with different perspectives. New, experienced people joined the company with the goal to make Kotekhi an even more successful, future oriented company.
In 2016 a complete modernization of the factory was done- The winery has undergone comprehensive renovation using modern winemaking technology, as well as preserving ancient Georgian wine making traditions.
Kotekhi wines are currently available in more than 10 countries and the company is looking forward to expanding their global distribution.
